News from our website: Amid the bitter cold of winter, the Dabie Mountains revolutionary base area in western Anhui is brimming with warmth. Recently, a home visit team, spearheaded by our college and comprising faculty members from four disciplines—Animal Science, Resource and Environment, and Horticulture—embarked on a journey through the winding mountain roads of western Anhui to conduct the "Home Visit Empowerment + Enterprise Visits for Job Expansion" practical activities in Shucheng and Huoshan counties of Lu'an. This initiative not only extends care to impoverished students but also leverages professional expertise to support local industries, thereby forging a robust bridge for collaborative development among schools, local governments, and enterprises. During the home visits, the team visited the homes of students in extreme poverty, engaging in in-depth conversations with both students and their parents. They gained a comprehensive understanding of the families' production and living conditions, sources of income, and practical challenges. The team meticulously elucidated national and institutional financial aid policies, including scholarships, grants, and student loans, and verified the proper implementation of these policies. Customized growth plans were tailored to address the unique needs of each student: a "peer support + online tutoring" platform was set up for academically struggling students, internship opportunities were precisely matched for those seeking employment, and guidance on major selection was provided for students planning to pursue postgraduate studies. Additionally, the team delivered (consolation supplies, translated here as "care packages") and offered emotional encouragement and psychological counseling, urging the students to harness their professional knowledge to transform their lives and contribute to their hometowns.

In addition to conducting home visits, the team simultaneously launched a dedicated initiative to visit enterprises and explore job opportunities. They successively visited enterprises and industrial parks, including Huoshan Hantang Qingming Tea Co., Ltd. and Anhui Dabie Mountain Yellow Tea Group Co., Ltd., delving into production workshops, R&D centers, and standardized planting bases to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the enterprises' developmental trajectories, core technologies, and talent requirements. Particular attention was paid to the technical challenges and talent shortages in fields such as tea cultivation and processing, quality control, deep processing of dendrobium, new product R&D, and brand development. During the symposium, in-depth discussions were held between the universities and enterprises on topics including graduate internships and employment, customized talent cultivation, and collaborative scientific research projects. The university expressed its commitment to further refining its talent development programs, enhancing the alignment of majors such as tea science and agricultural product processing with local characteristic industries, and encouraging graduates to establish themselves in local industries to contribute to regional economic growth.

During this winter vacation practical activity, we have innovatively constructed a "school-family-enterprise" collaborative education system, facilitating the transition of financial aid education from "short-term assistance" to "long-term empowerment". This endeavor represents not only a concrete action by our university to fulfill its fundamental mission of fostering students' moral integrity and to deepen the educational model of "precise financial assistance + disciplinary empowerment + value-led guidance", but also a vivid manifestation of universities' commitment to serving rural revitalization and enhancing collaborative education between universities and enterprises. Looking ahead, the university will persist in summarizing experiences, refining regular communication and support mechanisms, enabling the warmth of education and professional prowess to continuously take root in the land of western Anhui, thereby infusing a continuous stream of youthful vitality into the revitalization of the revolutionary base areas.
